TCP is located at the center of Tianjin Binhai New Area, Tanggu, adjacent to Tianjin Port, Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone, Tianjin Economic & Technological Development Area (TEDA), and Tanggu Marine High-Tech Development Zone. The advantageous location provides excellent development space for TCP.

TCP consists of two campuses, with a total area of 1000Mu (667,000 square meters) and a building area of 200,000 square meters. It is equipped with complete facilities for education, scientific research, practice, training, living, entertainments and sports. 300,000 books are collected in the library besides 300,000 electronic books. Additionally, TCP has established a 100M Ethernet, gigabit backbone campus network covering the systems of radio, CATV, telephone, Internet and monitor, which strongly supports the information flow of education, scientific research and management, and upgrades its educational level.

With green lawn, canal and forest surrounding the campus, TCP presents a beautiful environment with strong human culture.

The precept of TCP is ”°virtue, practice and competence”±. To this end, it has fixed its orientation on the educational policy of service and employment, combining education, research with production; carries on the core spirit of loyalty, innovation, devotion and diligence; commits itself to cultivating qualified technical talents with solid expertise and practical abilities.

So far, the ”°one body two wings”± running structure has taken shape, which refers to higher polytechnic as dominant, adult continuous education and social training as supplements. TCP enrolls students from 27 provinces and municipal cities. Presently, there are 10,000 students in TCP among whom more than 6,000 are fulltime students of higher vocational education.

TCP pursues a goal to educate competent personnel for production, construction, management and service of Binhai, and even of Tianjin and whole China, with image of ”°Education serves market and students”±.
